It’s officially summer and everyone’s taking vacation!! I, too, packed my bags yet again. This time I went to Cali to see my beautiful baby nephew. In honor of the long flight, I’ve done a fashion illustration of my favorite summer outfit for flying. (PS. This doesn’t really look like me…erp, sorry. I drew it on the super shaky plane!)
Today’s Fashion Illustration:
denim jacket Hollister (or $ PacSun), Luster necklace by Good Season, Striped Maxi Dress F21 (or $$ Nordstrom), Legacy Medium Candace Carryall $$ Coach, dot scarf Muji (or $$ Juicy Couture), crochet wedges $ Steve Madden
I’m not a big fan of the maxi. (I’m only five feet tall,) I feel it swallows me. But, for all day travel – it’s the best. It’s comfortable, versatile, and cute. Plus, it layers well; and, layering is key when you’re in the freezing airport or aren’t sure what the weather’s like at your destination.
Hello, I’m finally back with a new fashion illustration!! I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend (and hopefully a nice day off!) Apologies for my longer-than-expected absence. I can’t divulge a lot of details, but I’m working on a new project that I think you’ll really love! So, I’ve been spending a little bit of my blog time designing for this new endeavor. I can’t wait to share it with you!
Today’s Fashion Illustration:
tank Hollister Co. (or J.Crew Factory), breton stripe tee Seoul (or $$ J.Crew), chambray button-up TopShop (or $$ Madewell), black denim $ asos, collegiate hoodie RISD (or $$ J.Crew), **slip-on sneakers $ Converse (or Bloomingdale’s)
So yes, believe it or not – I went camping!! In the woods! I slept in a tent! On the ground! (Honestly, it was not as bad as it sounds.)
Since the weather was a little chilly – it was important to have a lot of layers. It worked out great; I was comfortable while tossing a football back and forth–and I was warm while sitting around sketching. (It was also key that we had “heat tech” under layers for sleeping.)
This was my first time camping; I was scared of what it might be like. But, I ended up having a fantastic time and I can’t wait for my next camping trip!
**Note: My converse sneakers are the kids’ version (size 3!) Converse sneakers run pretty large. If you have small feet like me (size 5) you can probably get away with the much cheaper kids’ version!!
Hello, everyone! I’m finally on the vacation I desperately needed!! The sad news: wifi costs an arm and a leg – so I hope this little sketch holds you over until I get back.
Please don’t forget about me! Thanks so much for viewing!
I don’t know about you but, I’m so ready for summer! I have been planning this outfit for a while, so I just had to turn it into a fashion illustration. I can’t wait to throw on a sun hat and hit the boardwalk.
Today’s Fashion Illustration:
Luster necklace by Good Season, drop waist sleeveless shirtdress $ Forever21, Hart platform sandal $$ Lauren Ralph Lauren, cutout earrings $ Forever21, envelope cross-body $ Urban Outfitters
I guess part of this is a by-product of gearing up for vacation!! I am dying to go. The weather has been decent lately, but I heard a cold front is rolling in. Perfect timing to escape!
Now, what to pack… any suggestions???
Thanks for viewing today’s fashion illustration! Hope you liked it.
Hello, again!! Today’s fashion illustrations are of my favorite purchases from Seoul! (I didn’t really buy much in Hong Kong, believe it or not.)
dot scarf J.Crew, drape cardigan sweater Bebe, sweatshirt skirt Alexander Wang
vertical stripes Club Monaco, color-block Club Monaco, faux leather sleeve tee Pacific Sunwear, snake effect ballet flats the Outnet
French sailor’s shirt LL Bean, neon pop boatneck tee J.Crew Factory, patterned flats Shopbop, embellished sweatshirt Net-A-Porter
Sorry for the delay on updates. I could hardly lift a finger after I got back from Asia; I was hit with a cold, the time difference, and good-old fashioned exhaustion! Now things are back to normal and I will be updating regularly again. Hopefully you stayed with me. (;
foil spot sweatshirt asos, denim american eagle outfitters (or $ Macy’s and $$ J.Crew), studded cross body bag (or $$ asos and $$$$ Rebecca Minkoff), suede booties asos or ($$ Dolce Vita and $$$ adrien)
Our trip is winding down; soon we’re returning to the East Coast. We have to get more wine tasting in!
navy silk shirt Theory (or $ Old Navy and $$ Ann Taylor), skinny denim asos (or $ asos and $$$ Madewell), anchor earrings CatBird (or somewhat similar), leopard booties LOFT (or $ Madden Girl), Envelope Clutch (thanks, Yeswalker.com)
V.Ng and I are enjoying our time in the Napa Valley, but choosing outfits can be tricky when the day’s could include touring a vineyard, tasting wines, strolling the main street of St. Helena, or relaxing at home. I hate being over dressed but I never want to appear sloppy (especially around so many Michelin stars!) The easiest solution is a chic blouse paired with jeans. (Nothing says effortless like denim!)
It’s basic so I add standout statement pieces: bold anchor earrings and leopard ankle boots (currently 50% off with code SAVE50). I especially love my booties because they look expensive, add height, and are comfortable all day!
sequin pocket tee J.Crew Factory, mini skirt J.Crew, leopard booties LOFT (or $ Madden Girl), studded cross body bag (or $$ asos and $$$$ Rebecca Minkoff)
Apologies for the holiday hiatus! Hopefully you all had a great time with friends and family. V.Ng and I have been enjoying the Napa Valley. I also met my new nephew; I’m in love!
Luster necklace by Good Season, open weave sweater J.Crew (or $ asos and $$ Saks), perfect fit tank J.Crew, skinny denim asos (or $ asos and $$$ Madewell), leopard gold toe flat Zappos (or $ Madden Girl)
One of the best things I’ve done in SF is see friends. In movies, NY seems like the best place for your social life, but it can be very lonely. Recently I felt I had too few close friends; it really got me down. I attributed it to a lot of things: my serious relationship with V.Ng, busy work-schedules, and my bold personality. knit pom-pom hat asos (or $ asos), Zara gold accent coat (or $ Macy’s and $$$$ MyWardrobe), heart patch sweater asos (or $ and $$$), denim american eagle outfitters (or $ Macy’s and $$ J.Crew), leopard booties LOFT (or $ Madden Girl), Envelope Clutch (thanks, Yeswalker.com)
I love the Bay Area (especially the delicious food offered in the East and South Bay.) We have so many great friends here; we’re always happy to visit. There are so many fun things to see, eat and do.
