Nautical Inspired: Breton Stripe, Chambray & Red

Hello hello! I hope you like today’s super nautical fashion illustration! When I saw these pants, I had to have them. The bright tomato red is just so perfect. Plus, it goes so well with the bright red anchor (which I also had to have!) (;

Yesterday, one of my talented and beautiful friends shared an incredible video from Dove. If you haven’t seen it already – watch it!

I deal with self esteem and self perception often (especially now that I’m drawing myself every week!) This campaign is a great reminder to stop being so critical!

For those of us in the fashion industry (constantly surrounded by models and perfectly styled fashionistas) it can be difficult to stay in check. But, stop focusing on the nit-picky details; try perceiving yourself from others’ perspectives; what you’ll find is you’re beautiful than you thought!

Fall ’13 NYFW Illustrated – J.Crew

So… you had to know I was going to illustrate from J.Crew’s Fall 2013 show. (Sadly) a large portion of my paycheck goes right to the J.Crew bottom line. (You’re welcome, stockholders. Wait – I don’t think J.Crew is traded otherwise I would be all over that.)

J.Crew peeps are just doing everything right!! It’s so effortless and stylish. I love the bold colors, the awesome pattern mixing, and the great textures. Plus, all the accessories and soft goods are SPOT on!! The J.Crew girl is just so cool and chic; well… I just want to be her!

I know I need to be posting about my trip; Hong Kong is an awesome place. There’s gorgeous views and delicious food everywhere. I’ve been updating on Instagram and have some good ideas for some posts; so check back soon!

Hope you liked these fashion illustrations. (I’m messing around with new brushes and textures on Photoshop… you know – just having fun!)

Thanks for viewing! <3

When I saw this intarsia anchor sweater at J.Crew Factory (one of my fave shopping spots) – I thought, “How many times can I actually wear an anchor top?” The answer: A bunch.  I’ve already worn it several times… including my fancy friend’s fancy tea party.  (And, I couldn’t resist the appeal of an anchor themed fashion illustration.)

Have you guys gone to “high tea?”  I kiiiind of love it.
