Off the Grid

Hello, everyone!

I’m finally on the vacation I desperately needed!! The sad news is: wifi costs an arm and a leg – so I hope this little sketch holds you over until I get back.

Loving: Floral Stripe Mix

I’m desperate for the weather to heat up because I recently got an adorable tunic featuring one of my favorite trends: floral on stripes! (Sadly, my dress is currently out of stock; here’s something similar from Juicy Couture.) I’ve rounded up some other adorable stripe/floral styles for today’s fashion sketches. Hope you love it!

I really love the mix of bold graphic stripes and soft easy florals (and, I’m not a floral kind of girl.) They’re fun, kind of retro, yet sort of modern too! I love UO’s soft and vintage take, or asos offers a subtle casual version.  However my all time favorite style is bold and colorful on neutral… a la J.Crew.

My Army Green Parka

Packing away winter clothes and rediscovering summer pieces is one of my favorite things. I love re-evaluating my wardrobe and deciding what to keep or donate. But, being on a budget makes it hard to put together the perfect Spring closet. Alterations are an affordable and easy way to get something new.

More than I should, I buy things that don’t fit with the intention of altering them. But, it’s hard to find the time or motivation to actually sit at my sewing machine.

This Spring, I piled up skirts that are too long, jackets with sleeves that are too long, and pants that need hemming with the intention of getting them into circulation.

What I Wore: Bold Black Stripes & Crocodile Clutch

Happy Monday, everybody! I hope you all had a great Easter weekend. (If you’re into that stuff.) Anyhow, I’m back from South Jersey with a new fashion illustration and a bit about the Borgata in Atlantic City; thanks for viewing!

Last weekend VNg and I went to AC with two sets of couple friends. (Yay, triple date weekend!)  Our friends had a deal at Borgata so that’s where we stayed and played.  Generally, I’m not a huge fan because I ALWAYS lose… and I can’t stand smelling like smoke after.  But, dinner at Bobby Flay’s restaurant was well worth it!

Sorry for the delay on updates.  I could hardly lift a finger after I got back from Asia; I was hit with a cold, the time difference, and good-old fashioned exhaustion!  Now things are back to normal and I will be updating regularly again.  Hopefully you stayed with me. (;
